Sky and Mountain Watch

Was it only last week that we returned from the Southwest?

Beginning not too far north of Sacramento we started seeing mountain peaks rising high above others in the Sierras and Cascades. Lassen, Shasta, McLoughlin, Three Sisters, Jefferson, and finally...

Mt. Hood.

Well, I suppose it wasn't really "finally", since we also saw Mt. Adams, and Mt. Rainier after we waited an hour for the traffic jam behind an accident (as shown in unanticipated in my ABC Wednesday post.) While waiting I had a chance to get this magnifcent view of Mt. Hood against a nearly cloudless sky.

Later, when we dropped down into the Yakima Valley nearly home, we found fog so thick you could barely see the side of the road.

SkyWatch is here.

It is one gorgeous mountain, isn't it! Fantastic shot and perfect against the blue skies! Enjoy them while they last!

Have a great weekend!

What a perfect shot! I see Mt. Baker sometimes from Anacortes. I've always wanted to get up close and personal with that magnificent beast. Happy skywatching...
