No trig required for these calculations! And still a common construction method today. My geometry is up.

Ah! Under construction! This ancient photo is just angling for compliments!

So what building is it today?

It was the First Trust Building in Pasadena, California. No idea if it remains.

This is interesting to me. My grandparents came to Pasadena in the 1920's and lived there their whole lives. They passed away whe I was in my 30's but prior to that, I spent a lot of time in Pasadena.

Kathy, I'm Vicki (of Vicki and James). I wanted to thank you for the beautiful quilt. What a delight to receive that! I'm doing a post tomorrow on my blog about it.

Vicki, my maternal Grandmother and maiden aunt lived many years in Pasadena--from the late thirties until the early sixties. They went to church at St. Andrews, the big brick Catholic Church with the very tall tower that can still be seen from the freeway. I have pictures my dad took fo the chruch being built--along about the same time as this one, and well before he met my mother. Dad was born in San Gabriel.
